How is Plus different from Personal Brain?
Personal Brain uses a proven template architecture and installs 2–3 skills in 1–2 weeks for $1,497. Plus adds four things: deep elicitation of your tacit expertise, a custom retrieval architecture designed to your specific work patterns, 3–5 skills with correctness contracts, and a portfolio surface that demonstrates the brain’s capability.
The engagement runs 2–4 weeks with 30 days of support. Most people start with Personal Brain; some upgrade when their role demands it. Your Personal Brain fee credits in full toward Plus within 90 days.
How is this different from a Claude project or custom GPT?
A Claude project or custom GPT lives inside one vendor’s product. The Personal Brain lives at a URL you own and answers to every vendor’s tool. If Claude raises prices, your project is affected. If your brain’s host goes down, you move it without losing data. The artifact is different in kind.
The other difference is corpus structure. A Claude project holds files but does basic retrieval. Plus applies a custom retrieval contract — vector, document-tree, tabular, each where it belongs — shaped to your specific work, not a default.
What happens to the brain if I stop working with you?
You keep it. You own the source files, the schema, the deployment config, and the subdomain. You can rehost it yourself, hand it to another developer, or let it run as-is for as long as you want. There’s no lock-in. The retainer is optional and exists for people who want us to keep tuning — not as a requirement to keep using what you bought.
What are the pass-through costs?
Real but small. Cloudflare Workers + D1 + Vectorize + Workers AI run $0–$20/month per brain depending on usage — Free tier for most personal use, single-digit dollars even for heavy use. The custom subdomain is $1–$2/month amortized. Telegram or SMS capture adds $5–$20/month via Twilio. LLM tokens, when applicable, are at-cost from your Anthropic or OpenAI account.
Most personal brains run $5–$30/month all-in. The infrastructure cost isn’t the lock-in mechanism.
What’s the Pre-Conway founding rate?
$4,500 instead of $4,997. The founding rate holds through the Conway launch — the continuously-aware AI assistant we’re building that will sit on top of the Personal Brain infrastructure. Once Conway ships, the full rate applies. It’s an early-adopter incentive for people building their brain before the mainstream wave.
What if my files are confidential or regulated?
We sign NDAs. The infrastructure runs on Cloudflare with Access gating — everything in transit encrypted, everything at rest on infrastructure you control through your own account if you prefer. For regulated work (legal, medical, financial), we’ll talk through the compliance requirements during the Diagnostic Call and adjust the architecture to match. We’ve built installs for HIPAA-adjacent content; the infrastructure scales to most reasonable requirements.
Can I start with Personal Brain and upgrade later?
Yes. Your Personal Brain fee ($1,497) credits in full toward Plus within 90 days. The infrastructure is the same, the corpus carries forward, and the deep elicitation builds on what the template extraction already surfaced. Most upgrades happen when the client realizes their role is more complex than the template could reach.
How technical do I need to be?
You don’t. The whole point of the productization is that the technical work happens on our side. You provide files, give feedback on the shape, use the brain through tools you already know. If you want to dig into the deployment config or retrieval architecture, the source is yours and we’ll walk you through it — optional.
